This weeks all of our Baby Ducks have been taking part in our obstacle course. We have been adding up all of the distance that the children have been doing in an attempt to complete a further distance than we did at the last Sport Relief. Last time we hoped to do a mile and ended up beating that target and completing a total distance of nearly 2000 meters. This year the children have already beaten that target and we have set a new one of 4000 meters. I will let you know tomorrow how we did.

Road Safety
This week we have been talking about road safety. The children helped draw the road on the ground with chalk. We talked about different crossings. The children said "you wait for the green man" when we discussed pelicon crossings. Some children knew that before you cross the road you must "wait, do good listening to hear cars and do good looking to see cars." We spoke about looking both ways before crossing and when I asked "when is it safe to cross?" some children said "when there's no cars". We discussed why it is dangerous to cross without a grown up and that it is a good idea to hold hands when we cross the road.

Team Challenge
The challenge given was to work with a partner and race with another team to see which team could build the train track first with no breaks. The children weren't given any clues such as what shape it would be.
