Christmas Party

Our Baby Ducks Christmas party will be on Wednesday 18th December 2013.

This is the day the majority of children already come in, however, if your child does not normally do a Wednesday they are welcome to swap their day or you can bring them in for the party and stay with them.

Parents are invited to join us from 11.00am when we will have a leaving presentation for Emma followed by a visit from Father Christmas who will hand out gifts to the children.

This will be followed by a buffet lunch. We would ask that everybody bring a plate of food for the buffet instead of a packed lunch that day. A food list will be on the desk to note your choice.

More Gifts Added!

Thank you to everyone that has bought something from our gift shop, I have changed most of the books this week for new titles so please have a look. I have also added a soft toy nativity scene which is just £10....

and some little cars for £1 which make great stocking fillers!

Tatty Bumpkin

Today we had another visit from Tatty Bumpkin and the adventure this time was ...

Tatty Bumpkin Christmas Story
Today in  Tatty Bumpkin yoga class the children went on an adventure to:

‘Tatty Bumpkin and the Christmas Tree’
They stretched, balanced, explored and giggled and returned to relax at Wobble farm, remembering all that they had done.
The pose for this week was TREE

Description: Stand still and wave your arms from side to side in the wind.

Harder: Try balancing on one leg or with just the toe of your other leg on the ground. Parents: blow gently on your child’s body so they can be a ‘tree in the wind’. Or put some cotton wool or a hanky on your child’s head (to be snow!) and let them balance with snow on their heads.

Messy but fun!

This afternoon the children really enjoyed cutting shapes out of the pumpkin!

Even if it was a bit messy ...

it was all worth it when the candle was put in ...

The Lending Library

We have a selection of books that your children can take home for up to one week at a time. The selection of books can be found in the hallway. There is also a form for you and you child to rate the book. The titles will change each term.

With the weather being so poor today, what better thing to do than some singing ....

Tatty Bumpkin

Today the children have enjoyed yoga session with 'Tatty Bumpkin'

The children really loved the story, stretching and dancing. At the end they even had some quiet time to recap the story.

It was so much fun that we have booked another session for November.

Our new kitchen!

Last week the children helped put together our new kitchen.

They had great fun, reading the instructions, sorting out all of the pieces and helping to screw it all together

They were really excited about what each piece could be and even more excited when they saw the finished kitchen.

The arrival of the new Baby Ducks bus!

Last Friday I made the trip to pick up our new bus! When I say bus I actually mean a six seater buggy!

As you can see its pretty big and has been kindly donated by Blueberry Nursery in Davigdor Road, Hove! Having got it up the road to the station the first big problem was getting it onto the train!

Fortunately it was a quiet train as there was not much space. Then it was the simple issue of pushing it up to the Parish Centre - unfortunately one of the brakes and become stuck and made it a bit of a struggle, which was made worth it when the children saw the 'duck bus' for the first time!

Time for the first ride ...

Hopefully it should make some of the trips out much easier in the future!

Fancy a Coffee?

We are hoping to hold a coffee morning on either Wednesday or Thursday of this week. Please come and join us as this is a great charity as well as an opportunity for parents to meet up. It would be great to get as many parents and friends or family as possible.

Please let Maryann or Zoe know as soon as possible if your interested.

Teddy Bears Picnic

The children have really enjoyed the Teddy Bears picnic this week.

May we should be Baby Seagulls!

We had a visit today from a new baby - the only problem was that it was a baby seagull! After phoning the RSPB for advice the frightened little bird was moved to the rear of the building where the parents could keep an eye on it allowing the children to play outside in safety.

The baby gull safe and sound behind the hall!

Our garden

Since starting the 'team' gardens a few weeks back things have certainly started to grow.

We would like to say a big thank you to everyone that brought in some plants or gardening equipment for us. The children have really enjoyed planting and watching things start to grow.

We have even had some crops, which the children have been able to eat for snack. We have had lettuce, carrots and strawberries!

Our trip to the park

This week we have been to Easthill park. The children all had a great time in the sunshine.
